the client’s journey towards wholeness.
Specific counseling services include:
Individual and couples counseling
To date, our country and most of the world does
not embrace our sexuality. Many of us grew up
in families where we were taught that anything
other than heterosexuality was wrong. Compounding
that message, religion told us that we were deviant
and immoral. Years of these messages have left
most of us with self-hatred, low self-esteem,
and a disconnection from our emotions and physical
body. What is worse is that these unexplored feelings
may prevent us from forming and/or maintaining
healthy romantic relationships. Individual counseling
can help you reconnect with your Self and embrace
your wholeness. If your intimate relationship(s)
is/are experiencing difficulty, couples counseling
can help you and your partner enhance the positive
aspect of the relationship while exploring those
areas that are causing tension.
Pre-marital counseling
Whether you and your partner have already decided
to get married or are considering it, pre-marital
counseling can help you clarify the intentions
you want to put forth with your wedding. Marriage
can be both a joyous experience and, at the same
time, a stressful event. Inevitably, a wedding
brings out the best and the worst in people, partners
and family alike. Pre-marital counseling can help
you and your partner experience your wedding and
begin your marriage with ease and grace.
Some of the questions pre-marital counseling can
help you address include: are we doing the right
thing?, are we right for each other?, is this
my soul mate?, what about children?, what if we
practice a different faith?
Spiritual counseling
At times some of us may experience a sense of
disconnection from our spirituality. These feelings
may leave us frustrated or angry or make us feel
that our lives lack purpose and meaning. Spiritual
counseling can help you reconnect with your spiritual
source and develop a sense of groundedness. Reconnecting
with our spiritual nature leave us feeling joyful
and full of life.
Some of the questions spiritual counseling can
help you address include: do I believe in God?,
how do I develop a relationship with my spiritual
nature?, do I want religion or spirituality?,
how do I relate to my religion of choice when
they hate my sexuality?
Grief counseling
Coping with the loss of a loved one is uncharted
territory for many people. We experience feelings
of loss, anger, frustration, and even resentment.
All these feelings are normal, yet our family
and friends may not know how to handle our emotions.
Grief counseling can help you navigate through
these feelings and develop the coping skills necessary
to live life without your loved one.
